Are You In Need Of a Life Coach?

Don't worry. I'm not about to turn Dr. Phil on you. Neither is this a scheme or a ploy to get anything from you. Let me help you as we concurrently help each other. I have been vigorously feeding my mind with marvelous sources of knowledge and I want to share it with you.

Since I arrived in LA, I have been coveting for knowledge while simultaneously preparing for something in my future of the unknown.

On my Week 9 Review I had my first premonition to add life coaching to my arsenal.

On day 65 and a few other days I was put into action and the signs have done nothing but continued to show itself. Last night coincidentally entered into a life coaching conversation with a friend and after a few minutes she was like, "What have you been reading?"

This is limited time offer because I am certain that my life will change very soon. If you are serious about making a change in your life and need a coach, lets connect. Or maybe you know someone that needs a coach, consider me. At the least I can dedicate myself for the whole month of March. We'll put together a phone conference schedule, a plan and everything else we need to boost your confidence and ambitions to achieve the greatness you desire.

This comes at no cost to you. All you have to do is take the initiative and contact me.

Week 23 Review: I'm Ready!!! Bring It On!!!

"If ever I believe my work is done, then I'll start back at one."
~Brain McKight

Remember late last year/early January, when I had all these top secret pending projects such as the The Big 1, The Big 2 & The Big 3. Well, lets just say I'm in a similar yet familiar placement again. This time however, the out come will be significantly different.

"History is known for repeating itself but to acquire the results  desired it will take action of a revolutionary."
~Motown Maurice

I've been in the holding booth before. I've been on the sidelines. They threw me in the back seat and eventually I was omitted from the process. Beyond the quest it appears to be the story of my life.

Just in case all of my adversities are tests from the universe, I decided to distantly and deliberately send out a message by the methods of  shouting this week. The message was entitled and blurted, "I'm Ready, Bring It On."

"There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heart break, every loss contains its own seed, its own lesson to to improve your performance the next time."
~Malcolm X

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
~Thomas Edision

Like the previous processes there is a waiting period. That's inevitable. At the end of this I'm predicting more opportunities then I can manage. Indeed, that will be something to blog about. Now is my time!

Day  154 = Sunday, February 20, 2011

* The inspiration for this post was conceived:  It Was Time For a Change...So I Cut It All Off

*  I returned to my walking billboard promotional roots and started wearing my flier around my neck again. It works. People look and ask questions. It works with very little effort.

* I was also watching the NBA All-Star game at this restaurant type place called Capital City Hollywood. After the All-Star game there was a premiere party for ABC's show Amazing Race. Here is a photo of myself and one of this seasons contestants. (This note was added 3/11/11)

Motown Maurice & Vyxsin Fiala an Amazing Race Contestant.
Day  155 = Monday, February 21, 2011

* Submitted for work most of the day.

* Moments after I got off the train on the way to improv class, a random guy got my attention and asked if if I'm that talk show host guy. When I confirmed he was talking about me, he told me he got my flier somewhere off of Crenshaw. I have no clue how it got there. He was mostly curious on whether I needed his help for anything thing and if I had any work available.

Day  156 = Tuesday, February 22, 2011

* I finally acknowledged the last hand full of people that provided me a donation last year.
Post: Donation Update # 4 For Real. Sorry for the delay.

* I guess I can say I was wrong... I can't be right all the time. On Day 152 = Friday, February 18, 2011. I wrote about an audition that I thought I didn't get cast for since they didn't call me the next day. Well I got called today and I'm cast. Its nothing big. There is no pay but I'm just happy for the work. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

Day 157 = Wednesday, February 23, 2011

* Posted: And the Academy Award goes to...Motown Maurice. I didn't intend on leading anyone on with that Academy award post but at least 2 people had the impression that I was telling the truth. Sorry, I have my moments when I like to over dramatize things.

* I was contacted from an ad on Craigs List to be apart of a shoot but it was ridiculous. I ended up leaving. Too much chaos.

* I also got a notice from my agent about a special gig. I'm strategically working on ways to get attention for it. We'll see what happens.

Day 158 = Thursday, February 24, 2011

* Attended an interview for: LS (LS= Love Scouts. Code Revealed 3/5/12)

* My infamous conversation with the universe."I'm Ready Bring it On."

* Sent in a quick audition video for a part entitled: Disturbed - Warrior For the role of: Carlos.

Day 159 = Friday, February 25, 2011

* Vampire Masquerade showcase. My cast members are starting to think I'm crazy.  Some of them say they are struggle to hold their laughter when we are on stage together.

* Notice for another interview next week: E

Day 160 = Saturday, February 26, 2011

* I literally stayed in my pajamas all day working on the computer.

Final Thoughts

Compared to last week, this week was extremely slow. I don't like it when things are slow but its expected. Nevertheless, I certain those seed are starting sprout. In another words, its soon to be harvest time.

And the Academy Award goes to...Motown Maurice

In the spirit of the Oscars, that will take place this weekend, located less than 20mins away from my home via train. I thought I should let you all get an advance screening of my nomination for best supporting actor.

Here is a clip of the film entitled Mountain Climbers - Celebrating Differences by Rushare Productions.

I got cast for this project last year in October. The table read was on day 18 and shot on day 21.

I received the final copy right before Christmas and here is the debut.

I hope you enjoyed it. Leave a comment and tune into the Oscars to see me receive my award live. If you miss it, don't worry. I'm sure there will be many more Oscars to come.

It Was Time For a Change...So I Cut It All Off

Yup, I cut it. I cut it all off. I cut off all my facial hair last Sunday to be exact. I was in Hollywood watching the All-Star game at this restaurant type place called Capital City Hollywood and I made a split decision. I was looking in the mirror and I didn't like what I saw. So I cut my goatee off.

I also wanted to test putting a razor on my face again. Since I arrived to LA in September I had some problems with ingrown hairs and razor bumps. Over time I discovered 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil and combined that with some other techniques to come up with my own regimen for my face. So far so good. I don't think razor bumps are going to be a problem for me anymore.

For the longest, I've hated my face without my goatee. As a matter of a fact the last time I cut off all my face was August of 2009 and I hated it. Below is a picture of me with at Wide aWoke Wednesday's Why Black Men Don't Go To Church Part 2. I cut off all my facial hair.

Motown Maurice and an audience member at Wide aWoke Wednesday August 2009 without my goatee.

Another Motown Maurice without his goatee in August 2009
I think my eyes was looked too big with my goatee cut off. My high top wasn't at its prime either.

Anyway, let me know what you think of my new look. It might need new head shots but I could possibly get casted for younger roles... All know is for the first time in a while I'm liking the clean cut look.

Once again tell me what you think.

Thanks

On New Years Eve I posted: Donation Update # 4 (The Last Donation)  I thought it was going to be the last time I accepted donations. Not only did I not get a chance to acknowledge the donors yet, I stilled received donations since the start of 2011 (I will acknowledge those donors in my next post). With that being said, here is my official thank you to the following people.

My total amount of donations recorded on October 24, 2010 was $2090.00

Adding that amount and all the donations from the donors above, making a grand total of $3500.00 for 2010.

(Please note this was a long time ago and that money has be well spent. If you don't know by know read read: The Just Enough Money Miracle on 34th St)

Without a doubt the majority of those donations came from my loving mom but I am especially touched by everyone else because each person surprised me.

Thank you all for your love and support. This is more than a donation. Its an investment and I am working hard to make sure I represent your investment to my fullest.

Week 22: I Really Need To Be Careful What I Ask For...

...because I might just get it. Literally! Last week I went on a "I need more work" yelling rampage. Not to forget the ever so infamous tread of "Woe Is Me: I'm submitting for work all day but I'm not getting enough responses. Woe Is Me: I want more work than I can handle..."

I went on a series of exhausting all of these feeling/desires and I got exactly what I asked for. This week has been overwhelming in a great and needed way. I think I had the most auditions this week since I've arrived.

My responses from the auditions are even getting better. That means a few things. I'm becoming more confident at the auditions, I'm doing better with the cold reads and I'm making better impressions. All I have to do now is learn how to book one of these auditions.

Based on these responses I'm obviously doing well but you never really know what they are looking for. Or how much better the other guy was. Either way, all I can do is move forward and continue to do my best.

In most cases if you don't get a call back with in 24-48hrs, you might as well hang it up. There is always a chance someone they picked ends up not doing it and they could call me but that doesn't happen very often.

For the sake of keeping this blog short, I won't even get into details about each audition. The more I write probably means I didn't get it. If I put clueless letters for an audition or interview that means good for now from my point of view.

Day 147 = Sunday, February 13, 2011

* The day before I got a call to audition for a commercial. When I arrived I had to improv a haphazard magical time-traveler. This was one of my best responses yet. All 3 of them were laughing hysterically. I also thought I had a good chance because the setting was based in the 1980's. Furthermore, I didn't get the part. It was a good experience either way. They also sent an email informing those that didn't make it. That's a first. That never happens.

Day 148 = Monday, February 14, 2011

* Received a noticed to be an extra in another Chris Brown Music video featuring Lil Wayne, and Busta Rhymes. They even remembered me from the last video in September.

* Interview notice for YATA on Wednesday.

* Audition notice from my agent for tomorrow.

* Attended Improv Class

* After improv class my friend invited me to a Karaoke club. I ended up doing Empire State of Mind with this lady. Of course I was Jay-Z and she was Alicia Keys. Note I was really terrible. I believe it was my first time doing Karaoke. I will make it my duty to redeem myself. One day soon.

Day 149 = Tuesday. February 15, 2011

* Received an ASAP notice to be apart of a new Michael Jackson music video but they needed me there within an hour. I tried but I couldn't make it. It was probably for the best anyway.

* My agents audition was for a commercial that was looking for people with a 70's look. My look ain't actually 70's so you know the results.

* Audition notice for a music video called "No Tomorrow" for Friday.

* Notice for (SS) interview on Thursday.

* Got my hair trimmed up. I also added some cool parts on the side.

Day 150 = Wednesday, February 16, 2011

* Interviewed for YATA. I think it went great, we'll see if I get a call back.

Pursuit of Happyness Moment

* On the way to the Chris Brown music video shoot I had a Pursuit of Happyness Moment. When I got off the train I had to take a bus but I wasn't sure which direction. I jumped on the wrong bus and the bus driver left me off at the next stop. As I was approaching my staring point, I noticed my bus coming. Immediately I jolted into full speed with my bag in both hands to catch that bus. When I was about 10 steps away from the bus I might of slowed down a bit because I just new the bus driver saw me. There was even one lady still getting on. The moment I walked in front of the bus he closed the door in my face. I couldn't believe it. I banged on the door multiple times, he even looked at me but still drove off. I'm not the type of person to get pissed but at that moment I was livid.

Hey Lil Wayne! How is your mom doing?

Shortly after I confirmed the music video I came up with a cool idea. March of 2010, Lil Wayne, T-Pain and Ne-Yo's moms were all guests on my show. I figured it would be cool to give Lil Wayne a few pictures of his mom just to be nice. I had no other intentions. I was near certain his mom told him about me and The Motown Maurice Show experience. At the time he was in jail and his mom said she really enjoyed the show. Their was a good chance he new something.

Moreover, he didn't arrive for the shoot until the last quarter of the day. Note, the shoot lasted from 12pm -11pm. I contemplated the right time to approach him and that opportunity came towards the end. The last scene was shot outside and him, Busta & Chris Brown was on top of a fire truck.

Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne
In between time, I was trying to make eye contact with him. Finally we did and I shouted from the ground, "Hey do you remember your mom telling you about a talk show she was on in Tampa, FL March of 2010?" He said "Yeah." I told him that was my show. He smiled and shook his head. I also told him that I had some pictures for him and I'll give it to him or his peoples after the shoot.

When his scene was over, I approached him, gave him 6 pictures that included his mom and of course my flier was inserted in there. I also told him to tell his mom I said hi and that she the other moms had a great time. We shook hands and I said, "If you need anymore pictures you can give me a call my flier is in there. I'm sure we'll meet again." He didn't really respond much with words but he smiled.

Sorry I didn't have my camera with me at that moment to take a photo with him but below is a picture of me and his mom at my show in March. Its one of the pictures I gave him.

Click here: Chris Brown's Look At Me Now (Feat. Motown Maurice, Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne)

They coolest part of the day was when I stepped in the trailer to get paid and I didn't have to show my ID. The two young ladies new who I was, asked if I saw myself in the last video and one even said she read my blog. How cool is that?

* Notice from agent for audition tomorrow.

* Audition notice (Dooty Brother) tomorrow.

* Audition notice for sketch comedy show on Friday.

Day 151 = Thursday, February 17, 2011

* Completed the interview for SS. It went well. This was my best interview response yet.
(SS translation 2/15/12: Survivalist Show)

* My agents audition was for a commercial called Bojangles. I didn't do that great. I left there knowing I wouldn't get the part. However, I know where I could of done better. I didn't read my script out loud when I got it. It really helps and I'm doing that from this point on.
* The Dooty Brothers was something special. Sometimes you audition for things and don't have a clue whats its about until arrive there. The description of this particular audition was described as a Hollywood Comedy  & Ready Show (Live and Filmed)

When I finally found out what it was about I couldn't believe it. The name of the event is called The Black Knight Returns, "Nigga Nite 6." They wanted people to come to this even and act like "Nigga's" I don't even want to the details. Its really... You can look up up if you want. I called the next day and told them I couldn't do it. However, I do regret allowing myself to continue with the audition. On camera why asked me questions like, "Describe a Nigga to you?" What do you think a Nigga acts like?" At the end they even asked me to say "Awww, Nigga!!!" I just hate that I went along with it. I never even use that word.

One good thing that came out of that experience is that the main person took me down the hall and told me about a radio station in the building. He told me if I contacted them I could probably get some air time as a host. I did email the station but no response.

Day 152 = Friday, February 18, 2011

* Attended a meeting to possibly join another theatre called Hollywood Club.

* Auditioned for a comedy sketch show. Great response. I'm even proud of my audition. I read my script out loud before hand and had a great performance. Furthermore, no call back.
* Auditioned for a some type of music video called "No Tomorrow." The description said you had to know how to play basketball and look like a teenage boy. They invited me to audition and everyone one auditioning were literally teenagers. I even had to do a flirting part with a teenage girl. Can you say "awkward"? No call back.

* Performed in my 3rd Vampire Masquerade Show. The crowded seemed to have loved me. I could hear them every time I went on stage. After the show, a few people in the previous cast told me I'm the best "Dog Boy" they've seen in a long time. I guess that's something to be proud of. No one asked or autographs or to take a picture with me but a few people shook my hand.

Check out the latest promotion for the show:  6 More Shows of The Vampire Masquerade Featuring...

* I also had an opportunity to audition for a show the HBO show called "Entourage" but I wouldn't of made it in time. As you can see my day was really busy. I had to let that one go.

Day  153 = Saturday, February 19, 2011

* After a week full of excitement, dullness finally took over today. I would of went to the movies again but money is gone. I went to the post office and made it a Redbox night. I watched Salt. I saw it before but I wanted to see it again.

* I also wrote this post: The Just Enough Money Miracle on 34th St

Final Thoughts

WOE IS ME: I'm getting the auditions and interviews. I just need to officially confirm and book something now. At the least two of them from this week. WOE IS ME WOE IS ME WOE IS ME WOE IS ME WOE IS ME WOE IS ME

The Just Enough Money Miracle on 34th St

Throughout the course of my entrepreneurship endeavors I've often reached pinnacle moments where I had no clue how I was going make it through the next month financially. Most of these moments started to occur after I started producing my monthly discussion forum Wide aWoke Wednesday between 2007-2009 in Tampa, FL. I focused on those shows so much I started to neglect the marketing and promotion aspects of my business that actually made money.

Nevertheless, somehow, someway, a gig would unexpectedly pop up and clear the way for me financially through the next month and sometimes beyond. I wish I could remember each remarkable situation but I can't. The situation occurs, somehow a blessing arises and I move on to make another business transaction.

It just so happens that I've going through the "How am I can going to make through the next month dilemma." Now that I have this blog I'm happy that I can properly log "The Just Enough Money Miracle on 34th St.

First there are a few things you should know.

* Last week I shared my Woe Is Me saga which first shaped my financial dilemma. By the time you reach the 8th Woe is Me you will see this:

Woe is me: I'm broke and I have no money.

Woe is me: I haven't booked any paying gigs this year.

I only had one 2 day gig's in January that brought in about $116.00. Since then I haven't any other gigs.

Now I did have some money that later came in from some work in December and of course my mom and loyal supporters have gave me a few donations but that money immediately went to IRS and United States Treasury bills.

At the beginning of this week I had about $150.00 in my business account. My personal account had about $60.00.

Since December 2010 I had to take the ethical sacrifice by not paying my credit card bills any longer. I also officially got rid of my 2005 Dodge Durango which eliminated my car payments and insurance at the beginning of this year.

By extracting all of these bills, all I have to really worry about is my phone bill, storage of my belongings in Tampa and about $25.00 per month worth of online casting services fees. Which means I have about $234.46 is serious bills each month. Now of course this doesn't include transportation and food. Currently, I'm in a really blessed situation and I am not obligated to pay rent/utilities which is extraordinary.

Moreover, my bills are approaching and all I need is at least $100.00 to $150.00 to clear the way for March. Somehow, someway, I finally got a gig this week to be in another Chris Brown music video. Its been over a month since I worked for money and right when I needed it the most a gig came in to secure they way a little bit longer. What a blessing!!!

I made $100.00 dollars from that shoot and I paid for my storage and phone bill almost immediately.

I now have to my name less then $25.00 in my personal account and less then $45.00 in my business account. That's barely enough left to take care of food and transportation but that's the least of my worries.

This is a post of amazement, less than concerns or worries. When there seems to be no way, God always makes a way. All I have to do is continue to make the effort and take the initiative.

I'm blessed and I'm going to do everything in my abilities to keep the blessings coming so I can share my blessing with someone else.

Yesterday/Friday, I was on my way home in the rain from an audition and a man in a wheel chair near a street corner asked me for some help. He needed me to help push wheel chair down the street.  I got off my cell phone and started to push. Jokingly, I said to myself "this could be a set up." Its dark, gloomy and raining, hmmmmmm.

Furthermore, I pushed his wheel chair at some type of church/community and he told me thank you very much. Then I told him, "No problem, if I help you then you can help someone else and then we're all helping each other making the world a better place." He responded in agreement. We really didn't get a good look at each others faces but I do know I felt good about it.

About an hour later I was getting off my bus stop and a young man just gave me an umbrella as I stepped off the bus. He almost trapped his arm in the door handing it to me and indeed I had no umbrella walking in the rain. It happened so fast that I didn't get to see his face either.

I have no clue if I ironically got that umbrella because of my good deed with the man in the wheel chair earlier but I do know I'm blessed, it feels good to bless someone and it also feels great to receive a blessing.

Please note that I'm not making this post to make anyone feel bad of not making a donation to me. Or to get more donations from those who have made donations to me. This is not the purpose of this post at all. Of course if you feel lead to make donation at this moment, free free. lol

Through all the hard times and uncertain financial moments the universe always makes away. Its amazing. So amazing.

That fact that I made it this far is beyond amazing. This story almost fortifies that I'm on the right path. If you are working hard for something and you seem to always survive with just enough, then there is a big chance you are on the right path.

I'm proud to also stay that my mom has been an wonderful supporter for me in so many ways. Financially, she has provided alot and I know she doesn't make much money. I'm almost proud to say that I didn't even know that last time I've asked my mom for money. Better yet anyone for money. I can only assume that high school was the last time I asked mom or anyone for money.

With that being said, whenever my mom blesses me with some money its always at the right time and on time. I could easily ask her and I know she would give it in a heart beat but somehow she just knows when I'm in need. Most times she sends without asking. I don't know how she knows but mamma knows. Thanks ma. I love you.

All my donations from my fans and supporters also came in at the right times. Thank you to all that have made donations. There are a few people since last year and early this year that I haven't had a chance to acknowledge in my post yet but I will do soon.

I hope reading this post has blessed you as much as it has blessed me writing it.

Week 21 Review: Woe is me! Woe is me! WOE IS ME!!!

Week 21

Woe is me: This week was not as productive as I desired.

Woe is me: I fear non-productivity

Woe is me: I'm not getting any call backs.

Woe is me: I'm submitting for work all day but I'm not getting enough responses.

Woe is me: I want more work than I can handle.

Woe is me: I was a little under the weather this week and I nearly lost my voice for about 3 days or more days.

Woe is me: I'm broke and I have no money.

Woe is me: I haven't booked any paying gigs this year.

Woe is me: I can't even seem to book audience work.

Woe is me: Someone please tell the credit card companies to leave me alone.
Woe is me: I eat Sardines, Tuna Fish and bread nearly 3 times a day.

Woe is me: I miss being on a production set.

Woe is me: I regret turning down to be in the music video called "Take Me Home Tonight." (You were right Scott)

Woe is me: If I would of did the music video I would of had to miss 2 days of Vampire Masquerade rehearsal knowing that I already missed the first day.

Woe is me: Now every time I see the movie commercial "Take Me Home Tonight" I cringe.

Woe is me: Why won't most people email me back.

* Attended a Social Media Breakfast LA. It was pretty good. I even asked to be a apart of their organization but...

* On the way the way to another free workshop, I got lost and decided to turn around. On the way back I used my powers and yelled out my need to receive a phone call for some work from a producer or casting director. I was asking for immediate results. I wanted the phone to ring that moment. Ironically my phone did ring but it was just one of my acting friends/associates. It wasn't the call I was looking for but later that day we did brain storm an idea that could potentially grow into something big. Fortunately, I did get a few texts later that day indicating some potential work.

I Am Number 4

* I attended the world premiere of "I Am Number 4" for free. Three is a lot of long waiting in line but its well worth it. Free popcorn and drinks was also available.

Day 146 = Saturday February 12, 2011

* Received a call about an audition tomorrow.

* I spent the day at the movies at Universal City walk AMC Theatre. I saw Gnomeo & Juliet, Sanctum, & some of Tron.

This is not me. This is just a random attraction at Universal City Walk. Its call I FLY. Its a sky diving simulator. Looks good but I can't afford to even think about trying it.

Final Thoughts

Woe is me is actually an exercise. I saw students get up and verbally shout out "Woe is me..." at a acting class I attended in Tampa for a short period of time. I never did it in the class. Writing this out is my first time doing anything like this. I guess its a good form of ventilating. Yet, what I'm really looking for results.

Woe is me! Woe is me! WOE IS ME!!!!

THE BIG 3 REVEALED (The Amazing Motown Maurice Story)

On day 80 I received the phone call about The Big 3. It was a call on behalf of an unknown major network and they wanted to know my story. As in full details about my quest. I didn't ask any questions and I started to break it down from my early college aspirations until now.

I'm not even 100% sure how they found out about me but I think this is the description of the project I originally submitted for.
----------------------------------

Everyone moves to Los Angeles with a dream. This new online docu-series is looking to examine each individual dream and find out what lies beneath. We are looking for REAL people with REAL stories about why they originally moved out to Los Angeles, what they are currently doing, and what they aspire to do. We are searching for all different types of people from different walks of life. The more unique the better.

Please submit your story! We look forward to hearing from you!

-----------------------------------

The name of the project is called "Second Chance." (Working title. They might change the name later)

5 days later on day 85 I sent them this DVD below.

I know, I used some "cheese" to make it.  Maybe too much cheese.

Honestly, I might of overdid the video.

I probably did way to much and made it too complicated. In an email immediately after our conversation they told me to "Just be yourself and tell us your story. Your life, your struggles, and why you are passionate about being an On Air Personality and why we should pick you. Don't over think it..."

Maybe I overdid it. Whatever the reason I wasn't picked, I'm cool. Why? Because I was truly being myself.

They probably decided I'm not what they were looking for since the first time we spoke. I assume so because they never returned my phone calls and emails after the first conversation. Oh well.

All I can do is look forward to The Big 4.

Its Amazing...

THE BIG 2 REVEALED

There really isn't not much to reveal about about The Big Two. Now if I would of got casted I would of had a different story to share. Moreover, this is what it was all about.

The opportunity was for a up coming show called "Battle of The Sexes"

Here is a basic break down of what the show is going to be about.

"Battle of the Sexes,"  is the show that shines the light on differences between men and women in the workplace. Each week, two new same sex teams will battle it out to show they have the smarts to best solve a different company’s challenge. Whether designing a new product for a toy company, selling cars for a giant auto brand or overhauling a mom and pop diner, we’ll see how men and women approach the same work issues and we’ll see who does it best!

First I got the first call on Day 79

Then I did an in person interview on Day 86

Then the last time I heard from them was on Day 94 .

Oh well...

Lets keep it moving.
