Week 392: Skipping Auditions and I'm Loving it

Weekly Written Review

I'm in writing mode. Serious television series writing mode and all the auditions coming my way are nowhere as important. As a result, I'm just blatantly skipping auditions like never before. I don't have time to waste. Setting up the camera and learning lines, rinse and repeat. I can't waste my time like that anymore. I'm fed up with the nonsense. There was one point of time when I completed near every audition that came my way. Now, if it doesn't immediately appeal to me I avoid and/or decline. I still have to go to all the auditions from my agents to keep them happy about they don't come in anymore. Maybe because I joined SAG. That's part of it but either way, they wouldn't book me regardless. My point of view isn't different because I've joined SAG either. I just got to keep my focus on my writing. The power is in the pen and its the far greater picture. Yes, I'll need to book something to stay afloat and that's where the music videos come in. They love me and I love them. No audition needed (for most of them at least). I appreciate the small booking more than ever before.

Week 391: You want series...I'll give you a series

Weekly Written Review

It doesn't get easier any easier, it only gets harder. That's real talk. Or maybe I'm making things harder for myself because I love the challenge. I got feedback about my screenplay from a producer on Sunday and it wasn't negative. He said he liked it. He also made a comparison that I later wasn't found about (nothing bad) and his use of the word "series" trigged something me. His only request was for me to send the story beats of my screenplay so he can give better feedback. Instead of giving him that, I've started developing an actual television series. I didn't have to do that but why not. I took his words as a challenge and now I'm making it happen. Plus its actually good. Now I'm in writing mode and I'm enjoying it. Whatever it takes. I'll get it done. The power is in the pen and I'll be wielding until I get what's mine.

Sunday, March 11, 2018

* Returning from Kevin's

* An email from a producer about my screenplay came in. His email wasn't negative but it put me in deep thoughts for a while. The one thing that stuck with me the most was him seeing my screenplay idea as more a series. That put me in deep thought. I thought to myself, "You want a series, I'll give you a series." I relaxed myself by watching the movie Private Parts and two episodes of Atlanta. Before the night was over I conceptualized an idea for a television series. Watch out cause I'm a bad man.

Friday, March 16, 2018

* Basketball...

* After balling I was supposed to go to a Target east on Olympic (Eagle Rock) but I forgot my ID for the pick up for Resident Evil. I had to go back home for it.

* Spoke to William who provided consultation for my television series

* It took me over 4 & 1/2 hours to get to a Target in Eagle Rock and back home. The bus on the way there was terrible. In addition to that, I went to the wrong Target. There are two Targets in Eagle Rock. I had to walk almost 2 miles to another Target in the rain. What a night. I was too stubborn to call request a Lyft or Uber. If I did that, it would defeat the purpose of buying the game I bought on sale. The power of patience.

* Hiking at Eaton Canyon with B.N...

* Audition video sent...

Week 390: It Means Nothing but You Got to Try Something!

Weekly Written Review

On Tuesday I got an audition notice for Wednesday and I immediately declined it because it was the same day as last shooting day of Oishi. To my surprise, I got a 2pm call-time. My average call time for the 13-day shoot was 6am or 7am so that was a surprise. I was able to do both which is cool. During the audition, I was asked if there's one person dead or alive I would like to talk to who would it be. I said Kermit the Frog and the room erupted. I shared several commonalities with Kermit and myself, and there was a lot of laughter. Granted the room with filled with a cameraman, myself and other actors. On the way out, two of the actors that were in the room with complimented me. The second one told her friend how amazing I was. She also said, if they don't pick me they must be crazy. Or maybe she said they don't know what they're doing if they don't pick me. One of them... Moreover, I didn't get the part. Which is why I titled this post, "It Means Nothing but You Got to Try Something."

Week 389: Good Go February!

Weekly Written Review

February blow away my expectations. I booked my first SAG role on Verizon Go90, joined SAG and ignited a fire to take my screenplay to the next level with my pitch deck and sizzle. Great seeds were planted in February of 2018 and I can't wait to taste these fruits. As a matter of fact, I can already taste them.

Week 388: Long Long Days On Set

Weekly Written Review

There's nothing glamorous about the acting process. The days are super long but I'm not complaining. I'm just glad I have foresight into the future. When the days are long it's hard to work on your own stuff but I get it in regardless. That's why I started bringing my laptop to work. The biggest challenge with my current shoot is the distance with public transportation. If my call time is 6am I have to leave my house at 4am to arrive on time. It's in Canoga Park. Plus I'm a night person so it's hard to tell my body to go to sleep early. Doesn't matter. I get through it and I'll get through more. It's only a 13-day shoot. I still have no desire to get a car. I love the carless life. To the future and beyond.

Week 387: Pitch Deck Mode On

Weekly Written Review

I'm currently playing probably one of the most ridiculous roles of all time. My characters name is Wheelchair Boy. As silly as that may sound, it's been me around a few people that initiated that creative fire in me again. I'm back writing and producing and I must say it's good to be back. Next level greatness ahead.
