Week 397: Rhythm me this, Rhythm me that

Weekly Written Review

Last Friday, while at the Marlon shoot, I got a call from a casting director. We're both familiar with each other. I've auditioned for him a few times. As soon as I had a break I called him back. It was about the choir scene music video I submitted for. Michael was hyped. He started by stating how professional I am at the auditions (which I can assume is pretty much why he choose me) and how serious this video is. He blew up the artist without indicating a clue. He also asked, "are you okay with getting shot but I mean it in a good way." I gave him my word, texted him my email and I was booked for the shoot. I had no idea who the artist was. Fast forward to Sunday, I arrive at the shoot location and I still had no clue about the artist. I speculated over the phone with a person or two and the names that came with were Celine Dion,  Elton John, and Stevie Wonder. None of that made sense for a shooting choir scene. I was eventually matched up with the other choir members and none of us new for sure, with the exception of one young lady. She did her own extensive research and she was convinced that it was Donald Glover. Hours passed, we had lunch and we didn't know for sure until we were escorted the prime area of the set. It indeed was him.

Slowly but surely they started to instruct the choir members of their duties. The dance number was new to all of us. Organically, I ended up on the top center of the group. After a few dance rehearsals, there was a clear concern coming from the choreographer in reference to me. With a hopeless look on her face, she told me to hold on a moment. She immediately turned around and walks towards the ear of the director, Hiro Murai. I'm looking at them, suddenly they're both looking at me. Then they proceed towards me. I'm saying all kinds of craziness under my breath. Hiro, tells me to the far top left of the choir. Disappointment took over my soul. I had the best spot, top center and now I'm on the far left. More time passed and they the moved me again. This time to the far right (my right). I'm saying to myself am I really that bad? I just bought and played a few sessions of Just Dance with my friend, you would think that would've helped. I know I'm rhythm challenged but I didn't think I was that bad. I ended up leaving the shoot really disappointed. I was certain no one would recognize me in the video. My spirits remained low for most of the evening. I soon forgot about it. Then came Week 399.

* Tennis

* I had an interesting situation today. Where do I start? Well, one of my housemates acts kind of "funny" sometimes. There were times she said hello to me and other time she didn't A few weeks ago she started talking to me about this situation. I told her I'll help her left the barrel of water next time if she needed help. She said she was too embarrassed to ask. Now forward to today and she ends up asking me to drive her, using her car to get a smog check.  Something else you should know is that she recently lost someone really close to her. He also lived at the house and passed away early this year. For some odd reason, he never said anything to me. I don't know why but he didn't even give me eye contact. Upon meeting me he made a decision not to communicate with me. Moreover, after the smog check, she revealed that she didn't think I would help her because her man and I didn't talk. She gave his childish explanation of why he didn't communicate with me. When he was alive he claims he tried to say hi to me one day and I didn't say hi back. That doesn't make any sense. Nonetheless, she admitted he was wrong about me. When we were about a mile away from home. I told her something I wanted to say since he passed but the opporunity wasn't present until now. I told her, "I have no clue why ----- and I didn't talk but despite that I'm am very sorry about your lost."
