Week 775: A New Retirement

Weekly Written Review

As I proceed through life, I retire various endeavors. Pickleball tournaments have been added to the list. I did a handful this year, and I'm done. It's too much detail. With an email, I declared I'm done with big pickleball events for 2025 and the foreseeable future. Most likely forever. 

Tournaments and wars are cute, but at the end of the day, people just want to play more pickleball. 

I also did a lot of writing this week, sharing a perspective with someone going through a divorce.

Week 774: Disapointing Launch

Weekly Written Review

The launch of my latest documentary is disappointing. First, it was partially uploaded. It got reuploaded, and now the title is missing an apostrophe.  It's been weeks, and they still haven't added a simple apostrophe. To top it off, I don't like how it looks. The platform seems to make the doc look brighter than it's supposed to be.

Oh well, I'm seeking other viewing options. Maybe something good will come from finding a new route.

Week 772: Hopefully Better Strings

I restrung some racquets with a guy I met last year at Rancho. Cliff hooked it up. He shared tennis tips, and he offered his strings at no extra cost. Hopefully, my new strings will elevate my game. I believe my old strings have been holding me back.

Week 771: Bumby Johnson and Pablo Escobar

Weekly Written Review

After finishing Griselda, The Godfather of Harlem, and Narcos were added to my viewing list. 

I like them both. Taking turns with each series. I didn't know much about Pablo Escobar until this show. His story is fascinating. The Godfather of Harlem introduced me to Bumby Johnson and ties the storylines of Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali in nicely. A lot is being learnt here too. 

I'm glad to have a couple of past time shows on my list, considering how picky I can be.
