Week 752: Renewed Gaming Habits

Weekly Written Review

Last week, I connected with the fellas to play Fortnite as usual and it wasn't a good experience because I had internet issues. The chat was disbanded and I sensed they were unsatisfied. Since then, my gaming habits have shifted. It's been mostly Fornite for the past few years but now I'm back to playing platform games and I'm loving it. For example, I dusted off Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. I stopped playing that probably in 2018-ish. It got hard but in less than a week I beat the game and found the hidden levels. 

I still enjoy Fortnite. I'll continue to revisit but probably not as much. I'm glad to be reacquainted with my gaming roots. Also, I spend so much time around people playing sports, that it might be impacting my approach to gaming.

Week 751: Pickleball and Tennis Disrespect

Weekly Written Review

On Monday someone who attended pickleball class without RSVP-ing and still found a reason to argue with me. On Friday, my teammate decided it was better to announce an issue about my play in front of our opponents instead of pulling me to the side to form a strategy. 

I'm in a leadership position on Mondays so I'm not worried about that situation. It comes with the territory. I'm done playing tennis with the Friday group. The person who outed me was guest hosting and he had the most tennis experience on the court. I don't tolerate nonsense from people in leadership positions. What also bothers me is that my opponents witnessed the disrespect and when I asked for their input, they backed up.  

All is good. I've already started brainstorming new places to play tennis. My tennis game wasn't growing on Fridays anyway. I'm also considering changing up where I play basketball. Change is good.

In other news, how about that Luka AD trade. I got a text about it and immediately dismissed it until it started showing up everywhere. It was shocking. I think it's an experiment worth taking. We'll see what happens.

Week 748: Podcast Hiatus

Weekly Written Review

Over the break, I officially decided to retire First Episode Podcast and on Saturday episode 20 was recorded. It was a good run. I enjoyed the producing aspect of it but so much the talking component. I'm glad I embraced the challenge. Between FEP and Sip & Chat Cafe, 20 episodes were published in less than 2 years. That's a good accomplishment. 

I acknowledged FEP's last episode as a hiatus. It could return, but for now, other projects must be attended to.
