Week 675: Emptiness

Weekly Written Review

In-between projects isn't a great place for me. I function better when I'm full speed ahead on a vision. Podcast developments have been nice but it's not immersive enough for my soul. Playing sports is my only happy place. When I'm done playing, I experience immediate withdrawal. My days off are worst. I force myself to rest my body for 2 or 3 days a week and it renders my spirit lifeless. 

Nonetheless, I need this mental rest before I embark on a new creative journey. I also need my series to go live to complete the mission. This is week 5 and counting. Waiting isn't fun. 

Meanwhile, I found a couple temporary fillers. I started watching Beef which is good. I play tennis with one of the actors. Plus, Fortnite dropped a new season on Friday. I'll take what I can get until I'm fully rejuvenated. 

Lastly, I submitted for an acting gig for the first time in a long time this week. It got me contemplating whether I should start submitting again in the near future. Maybe... We'll see.

Week 674: The Prank Panel Famous

Weekly Written Review

Over the years, when I appeared on television, at least one person tags me in a post. It happened on Thursday and it's nice to know that the trend continues after appearing on The Prank Panel on Thursday. The recording took place in September 2022. It was a mixed experience for me. I was disappointed my pitch wasn't selected and how the panel responded but the prank they executed on me after my pitch was an unexpected nice touch. 

The next day, I showed up at a tennis event. After I introduced myself a young lady, a 77-year-old man with a full gray beard emphatically shouted, "Motown! I saw you on TV last night." That was a priceless moment. 

Recently it dawned on me that some of my sports clothes are too baggy, torn up, and out of style. I went clothes shopping on Friday and I've been getting compliments ever since.

Week 673: Podcast Producing

So, I'm producing a podcast, something I've never envisioned myself doing. It kind of started out as an act of kindness then slowly became an artistic drive. Before the first episode was published, I found inspiration for a second podcast. 

I started watching The Powers this week and I'm really enjoying it. The Powers and Captain Fall are my two favorites for 2023 so far.

Week 672: Billions

Weekly Written Review 

Sometimes it's okay to let your imagination run wild. In the past, I would fight and restrict prosperous thoughts but that's not fun. Recently, I allowed myself to imagine a post-lottery-winning life. There's a little withdrawal when your numbers end up not matching but that's okay. I'm happy for the winner and I will rinse and repeat the next time the lottery is north of a billion.

Week 670: Record Delivery

Weekly Written Review

AOH was approved last Friday. 5 days later, it was delivered and selected to Amazon Prime Video. That's record timing. Normally, the process is "selected" and then wait for it to be "delivered" followed by waiting some more. 3 weeks later, I'm still waiting for it to go live. Nonetheless, Amazon Prime Video is an exciting platform to host my series. I wasn't expecting it to go there first or so soon. The unexpected has revamped AOH's marketing strategy, now, patience is key.
