Thursday evening, the SIM card on my phone stopped working. That's a bummer, but the conquest to fix the phone led to a treasure chest of cool discoveries. If my phone was working, I would've gone to the tennis courts to work on my serve solo. No one else RSVPed, yet I'm determined to get some form of tennis in once a week. Instead, I went on a journey to fix my phone. After a few phone calls, I found a place a few bus stops away. Once my phone got fixed, I decided to play Friday evening tennis. The last time I played with that group was February 7, 2025. Long story short and last thing I wrote to the host was, "I don't play with quitters." As a result of that, I brought back Lunch Time Heroes.
I dominated all my doubles tennis matches. I only lost the first match, and I think that partner lost with everyone else too. As I was leaving the courts, I decided to check the window to see if the gym has a new basketball schedule. Not only did I discover a new schedule, but I also found out about a basketball shooting contest. Later, via the website, I discovered a volleyball league. I immediately joined the shooting contest, and a few days later I said, "What the heck!" and joined the volleyball team. I don't have much experience. I'll just learn as I go. Less than a week later, the results are fire! Read week 834 for more details.

With the basketball league progressing, I'm doing what it takes to level up. I stayed for basketball last Tuesday and this Tuesday. A moment ago, I realized I retired from that shift exactly a year ago. Ironically, now I'm back. Half-court at 3 pm, and I'll stay for full-court at 5 pm. If my team loses, I'm out. If we win, I'll stay. There's not as much arguing, but I'm still not putting up with it for long periods. I'm also not interested in going home late in the evening.
Over time, I've been announcing that I don't exist, and it's starting to manifest in other ways. This week I unpublished several of my Facebook pages. That's years of history, now unavailable. An action I never thought I would do. Perhaps more to come.
Last week, I started rewatching Game of Thrones with my partner. Later in the week, I caught a glimpse of the trailer for The Drop: A Snowfall Saga. In the comment section, various people showed their love for Snowfall by revealing multiple watches. I don't think I've ever rewatched a series by myself. Rarely do I rewatch an old movie by myself. Nonetheless, I'm excited to revisit Snowfall with my partner in preparation for The Drop.

For the first time in over a decade, I bench-pressed this week. It wasn't a lot, but I'll build on it. I'm seeking to improve my strength to elevate my basketball performance.

This past week, I was borderline burnt out. I'm overwhelmed because I'm shooting and editing a project I wish I had declined. I'm underwhelmed because, as a coach, I'm always helping people improve their game. Sometimes I wish I had a coach determined to push me and elevate my game. I have a lot more to give competitively, which is why I was in deep thought this week. I value coaching, but I desire something that will shake up my schedule in the near future. That's why I signed up for Backstage and started submitting. I also applied for two reality show competitions recently.

I lost some doubles pickleball games this week that I should've won. I blame myself for not playing aggressively enough. As a coach, I often don't have to hit hard. I mostly use finest. This was a wake-up call. It's time to turn up!* Finished Mating Season...

I'm getting my share of basketball weekly, but I'm not playing enough full-court. I played full on Saturday for the first time in a while, and I played well. In game one, I only missed one shot and drained my first 3-pointer. I think I had 3 or 4 total shots. In game 2, I got one put back and a running foul line game winner. Several rebounds on top of that. I wasn't even as exhausted as when I play two on two at the Y. lol. I'm pleased with my play, and my teammates were too.* Blogging...

Given what I know now, I wouldn't have pitched an idea to someone on Wednesday. Soon after, I found out this person is leaving the environment. We all got to do what we got to do. I'm happy for this person's promotion. For me, it's a lesson learned to keep more of my ideas to myself moving forward.

It's the phone call nobody wants to get. It's the call that brings tears to your eyes and pain to your soul. It turns your life upside down. It's the news that makes you question the purpose of life. As my suffering piles, I'm glad it's over for my loved one.Weekly Written Review
Had an official DJ gig this week, and it actually went well. I wasn't required to make anyone dance. I provided background music and microphone access. 80's was the theme assignment and it worked. I'm still a fake DJ, but I don't mind this form of creativity from time to time.

Basketball play increased this week, which is good, but I've realized I've grown to like shootouts more than games. A lot of team games are not good for my mental health. Too much bad basketball. Not enough team play.Weekly Written Review

I have great TV service, but it sometimes has connection issues. I was advised to use a VPN in the past, but it seemed complicated and expensive. After being pushed to the edge, I finally tried Proton VPN, and it's neither complicated nor expensive. It's the complete opposite, and it solved my connection problem. Now I'm in TV service paradise.

Before sleeping, I consider watching shows I need to finish, but my spirit currently isn't interested in consuming all that violence and choice dialogue. I often get sleepy from searching for something to watch. This week, I landed on Ducktales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp, and it became an instant nostalgia takeover. I loved this show as a child, and I still do. After the movie, I started on the show. It's been so long, but there are sequences I vaguely remember. I'm so into DuckTales right now, I purchased the original and remastered video games on Steam. I can't help but smile while viewing. Great stories. Great characters! Great voices. Sweet memories.* DJ Practice...

What I appreciate most about my new DJ journey is that it has finally inspired me to organize my music and sound effects. Using specific commands, I located all my audio files, made copies, and began the prep. It's a lot, which has been consuming most of my time. Before now, after a project, I wouldn't have easy access to these files, and if I needed something as simple as a heartbeat, I would do a new search. Not anymore. Now I have an audio database.
