Week 543: A New Era Distributes

Weekly Written Review

After spending most of last week rendering and uploading, this week I received a failure notice from the company. Thankfully the errors are simple but the long arduous process of rendering and uploading had to be repeated. What can you say? You live and you learn. The most sentimental moment of this week was when I made my series private on YouTube. I'm all in. My story is ready to live somewhere else. There's no turning back. My time is now!

Week 542: Wash, Rinse, Rerender, Upload Slowly

 Weekly Written Review

As much as I enjoy my series, after reviewing it three times, I was done with the process. There are always more adjustments to be made but when you're wearing so many hats at some point you just got to move on. Next phase, rendering. My first batch ended up being the wrong format. As a result, I had to render again. That's a 24hr process. I figured it was smooth sailing after that and I was grossly wrong. It took 3 days and four computers to upload 11 files. That was supposed to provide relief but it was only temporary. Tune in next week and find out what I had to do all over again.

Week 541: Errors Never End

 Weekly Written Review

After reviewing my series with my post-production supervisor, I thought we found all the errors but I was very wrong. I choose to review it one last time by myself when I was done with my supervisor and behold more errors and fixes needed. It seems like it never ends. Once I completed this last review on Sunday (Week 542) I decided to not look back. If there's another closed-caption error or color/sound issue, I'm just going to have to live with it. In between fixes, I embraced the spiriting of giving this week. I paid back a person I owed money over 10 years ago, blessed a few good people supported couple of people. Amen.

Week 540: Weather is Great and so is Progress

 Weekly Written Review

Remastering a 5 and a 1/2 hour series ain't easy. It takes a lot of time, patience, and battle skills. I spent countless hours fighting against the closed caption monster. Captions have actually been the toughest part. Imagine spending hours typing, only to realize that the text constantly becomes un-sync.  Talk about defeat. It took forever to figure it out and when I did, it was a relief. The irony is, I figured it out with a program I got rid of more than once. Everyone online wrote highly about Subtitle Title but it wasn't operating the way I wanted it to. As a result,  I uninstalled it twice. Desperation calls for a third try and the program started to make sense since when I finally learned the process of delivering captions. I didn't know the video and the captions had to be handed over separately. Once that knowledge was confirmed, I began to fight less and love again. Overall, I made a lot of great progress this week with the remaster I'm thankful that the weather has been great. When it's cold outside, it's freezing in my garage. That hasn't been the case lately. Thank the Lord.
