Week 562: Surprise! - Long Road to Recovery

Weekly Written Review 

After not seeing my parents for approximately a year and five months (due to the Pandemic) I made a surprise visit after my Colorado trip. Moms did not see it coming. I arrived, called and told her to look for a father's day package that was delivered. I told her they might have put it in the wrong place. She came out and was shocked to see me. It was a lovely reunion. 

I did not sleep at my parent's house for a reason I prefer not to mention. It's nothing serious. I still spent plenty of time doing errands for my mom. I also watched a couple movies with my pop, Dragon Soldiers and One Night In Miami. Aside from that, I was on a mission to recover data from my old hard drives and embrace throwing away old files. I bought a shredder and went to work. My main focus was locating a documentary I completed in 2006. I want the master. To make a long story short, I consulted with three computer experts. None of them could help me. Four if you count my attempt to touch base with Reggie. Ten if you count Best Buy's Geek Squad. Not even they could help me. Ralph The Computer Mentor helped me the most when he suggested the dreaded idea of data recovery services. His scary suggestion lead to more defined research and now I'm thankful that I figured it out on my own. I unlocked something that might have cost me thousands of dollars if I paid a company to do it. It's amazing how much you can do by yourself with the right research, yet, my journey to data recovery is far from over.
