Week 589: No Church on Old Years Night

Weekly Written Review

While most of the world brought in a happy New Year, I kept it moving, working on my projects, digitizing tapes. I had a moment of sadness but I redirected quick enough. For the first in my life, I brought in the year solo. I'm normally in a church with my mom. Last year we skyped a service together. Not this time. Bringing in the new year at church was probably my most consistent family tradition in which I have no desire for any longer. Maybe if I ever have kids I'll return to church on New Year's. At the moment, I don't even pray for myself. Recently, I've concluded that I'm not interested in praying for myself but if I ever have children, I would probably pray for them. I believe the secret to making it through a tough period like mine is to stay busy and keep away from other people's happiness.

Although I spent the New Years' night alone, I was in good company at noon. After sending on a mass email about my remastered documentary, an associate that I haven't seen in a very long time replied to my email and requested to meet up for lunch. I didn't know what to expect and I was a bit hesitant. I rescheduled the first date suggested and I requested a restaurant closer to my home. He accommodated and which proved to me he was serious. Our meeting ended up being the most promising meeting I've ever had in terms of financial potential. Summarizing what took place, he's interested in making a movie and wanted to know more about my experience in movie making. I agreed to read his stories and I'm going to follow up with a story analysis. One of the best takeaways from our meeting was the part that addressed numbers and the potential future availability of funds for movie making.

I'm not in the realm of excitement because there are several factors still to be determined. I am indeed honored to be in thought and consideration.
